New Garage Door Installed, You May Find It Crooked, How To Fix In Just 2 Minutes?

after you install new garage doors and the door is uneven, where one side of the door is even to the ground whereas the other one is 2-3 inches above of it. There can be multiple reasons for it such as;

 Wrapped door

 Broken Spring

 Broken Cable

A combination of any of the above three can cause your garage door to give a crooked smile while you leave your house after closing the garage door. You can get this after new garage door is installed but there is nothing to worry about as it can be fixed in less than 2 minutes. Just you need right tools and a little bit of guidance.

Tools that you need:

 Vice Grip (It will help in keeping up the tension while the rope goes off)

 7/16” Ranches (As the bolts are of 7/16”, so you’re going to need these ranches)

 Winding Bars (Don’t make your winding bars, only use the right ones)

Process:

Before starting anything, it is important to get under protection. So, pull the red handle and then go for the processes described below. Make the winding bars sit against the strut on both sides of the spring to manage the stress. Now the door will fall completely down itself from both the side. Now loosen the cable on drum sides so that it will not bear any tension on both sides. Bring the tension back on the other side of the drum by inserting Vice Grip on to the connecting rod. Now, it’s time to tighten the other drum. Also, tighten the springs by removing the winding bars. Finally, take the Vice Grip off the rod, and your garage door is all balanced and is not crooked anywhere.

Some precautions to mind:

 Do not Ever try to pull the door down if it is in the upright position. It might have happened that the cables are broken already, and the door is ready to fall off the track at any moment. You will not at least invite disasters by pulling it further down. After new garage door is installed, it is the responsibility of the supplier to resolve the issues.

 While pulling the red handle to repair your crooked garage door, make sure, it is in down position. This is because, if it is in an upright position and you release the handle, the whole gate will crash down all of a sudden.
